The amount of rattling you experience with your drawer slides will depend on the type and style of slides you’ve chosen, as well as the locking mechanism you’re using. Compression locks, such as our Whale Tail Folding T-Handle, are a popular choice because they help keep drawers secure and reduce noise. If you’re dealing with rattling and want to minimise it, here are a few practical tips:
For 125kg Locking & Non-Locking Slides:
You can gently tap the metal end where the dampener sits to push it forward slightly. This small adjustment can help take up the extra play and significantly reduce rattling.
For 227kg Drawer Slides:
Apply a strip of self-adhesive foam tape or D-seal along the back end of the slide. This creates a buffer that helps prevent movement and noise.
For All Drawers:
Adding a strip of foam tape, D-seal, or another soft material along the back of the drawer itself can help reduce play when the drawer is closed. Foam materials work especially well for this purpose.
